About this site
An 11+ dataset and a set of calculators built on it, for Kent and Essex. Everything here is either traceable to the exam board, the council or the school, or labelled an estimate with its assumptions shown.
What this is
Marks on a practice paper mean nothing on their own. A standardised score depends on how the whole year group did and on how old the child was on the day, and the score that actually secures a place is usually well above the pass mark. Those are three different numbers, and most of what is written about the 11+ blurs them together.
So this site does two things. It holds a dataset of 42 schools — 32 Kent grammars and the 10 Essex consortium schools — with how each one actually allocates places. And it runs the real arithmetic on top of that dataset, rather than describing it.
What this is not
It is not a tutor directory and it does not sell tutoring. Nothing on this site ranks, rates or recommends a tutor, and no school listing is influenced by anyone paying for it. If that ever changes it will be stated plainly on this page.
Where the numbers come from
Every school record is built from that school’s determined admissions arrangements for 2027/28, and every school page links to the document it was built from. Cohort constants come from the exam board’s own published reports. The dataset was last checked against primary sources on 20 August 2026.
Where a figure cannot be sourced it is left empty and the page says so. Kent County Council publishes no per-school cutoff scores, so we publish none — the numbers circulating on forums are unsourced and repeating them would make this site worse, not more useful.
How the calculations are checked
The Essex CSSE calculator has been run against CSSE’s own published results for all 5,103 children who sat the 2026 test. The largest disagreement anywhere in the distribution — top, bottom or middle — is 0.54 of a point. The check lives in the repository and is rerun whenever the figures change.
The Kent tool is deliberately less confident. Kent’s test is marked by GL Assessment, which publishes no cohort statistics at all, so an exact score cannot be computed from outside and we give an honest band instead. Any tool that hands you a precise Kent score has invented its constants.

Corrections
If a figure here disagrees with a school’s own published arrangements, the school is right and this site is wrong. Corrections are welcome and the source document is linked on every school page so the disagreement can be settled quickly.
Independence
Not affiliated with GL Assessment, CSSE, Kent County Council, Medway Council or any school. School names and test names are used only to describe the admissions arrangements they publish.
